I am creating this in response to an email I received from one of my customers who asked me "I would like to know if you couldn’t speak to the company about new bodies for these things. They know that is a weak point on the Vocera so why not reinforce it or offer a cheaper option of body replacement. I think its bad customer service to make us pay for a weak point on the product."
They aren't the first one to make the comment to me either. Seems to me if the badge requires removing the battery on a daily basis, the plastic seems to be weak and a constant issue by high volume departments who actually use the badge all the time. So for the cost of the badge $360 - it could be improved so the customer doesn't have to pay full price for this issue as it's not covered by warranty. These badges cost more than most Smart Phones these days and they have solid parts so I guess ultimately what's being suggested here, is improving the product for the customers’ sake or adjusting the warranty.
