NGHS recently submitted a ticket concerning lack of bluetooth connectivity when utilizing a Kanso 2 Cochlear Implant device and a shared Edge device.
For Shared devices, the Edge application is constantly accessing the audio device even when it isn't making sound. This was done so the application can stay awake and get notifications in a timely manner.
The BYOD devices do NOT do this with the audio device. They instead rely on Apple's Push Notification system, i.e, the banner that drops when a user receives a notification.
The silent audio file only happens on shared devices, BYOD does not utilize this method (relying instead on the APNS banner)
