It would de-clutter certain units staff assignment page for some units.
We are a smaller hospital. Our registration staff floats around to different parts of the hospital to fulfill different roles (i.e. central registration, phone room, imaging registration) and there can be up to 8 people assigned to these "roles."
Our LBD department only needs 2 staff assigned to a bed/role.
according to this documentation, the number of columns can only be set at a global level.
