Show Group Membership in VMP Console

I was thinking more about the flow of issuing a message to a group, because I anticipate this will be a heavily used functionality. Yesterday we discovered that if there is no one in the group it doesn’t show any intended recipient in the console. I think you really need to implement a display of the group, regardless of whether it has members or not. Consider the following scenario:

                Room 4212, member Mary Smith
                Room 4122, no members
  1. Doctor issues a message to room 4122. The display is blank in the recipient field, shows no one received the message.
  2. Doctor re-issues the message, this time mistakenly selecting Room 4212. The recipient field shows that Mary Smith got the message. But that could be a big problem because he doesn’t know that Mary Smith is not the nurse taking care of his patient, and Mary doesn’t know that this doctor is not the one in charge of HER patient.

In short, I think it is really important to show the name of the recipient group in the console in addition to the names of whoever received it. Presumably it’s in the audit trail but that doesn’t do any good in the moment, and it does pose a potential risk of information communicated to the wrong person.
