Would it be possible to allow patients to use Vina to send & receive messages from their care teams when self managing certain conditions such as Diabetes, epilepsy, MS etc. As an example, the hospital could allocate the patients as a user and the care team could then send relevant info such as next appt for foot exam, HPA1C tests etc, whilst the diabetes patient could input Blood sugar readings etc as well as softer info such as how they are feeling lethargy etc. The security of Vina will be very attractive and whilst we may need to reduce some patient user functionality, in general this could be great mechanism to allow patients and clinicians to drive better outcomes. This would have wide ranging uses across multiple LTCs including Epilepsy, CKD, Heart Conditions, Mental Health and COPD. This would have applications that would touch a large user base, drive spread of Vocera across multiple care teams and increase our user base by tightly aligning us to patients outcome and experience as well as quality of care.
